PROGRAMS

Project Precious Haiti has funded several projects since our inception. We plan to expand and evolve our programs into other impoverished areas of Haiti. Learn more about our current programs below.

Feeding

Project Precious Haiti provides feeding programs at five schools:

  • St. Agnes girls school in Limbe has 800 students. Project Precious Haiti has supported the feeding program for the past 8 years.

  • Christ the King School just outside Cap Haitien has 200 students. Project Precious Haiti has supported the feeding program for the past 5 years.

  • Saint Francois de Sales School in Vaudreuil has 400 students. Project Precious Haiti has supported the feeding program for the past year.

  • Institution Saint Antoine de Padoue de Saint Raphael has 210 students. This is a new school we added in 2021.

  • Ecole St. Louis de Gonzague has 350 students. This is a New school we added in 2021.

The cost of a feeding program is:

  • 1 child = 0.50₵ CAD per day.

  • 1 classroom of 30 students = $75.00 CAD per week.

  • 1 school of 200 students = $500 CAD per week.

Education

Since 2011, Project Precious Haiti has sponsored many students in Limbe, Cap Haitien, Pignon, Ranquitte, Carrefour des Peres, and Saint Raphael. Education donations support tuitions, tutoring, uniforms, books, supplies, and transportation.

We are sponsoring 13 students for the 2021/22 school year in elementary, secondary, college and university. We are partially supporting a priest in France and one in Minnesota upgrading their education, so they will be better able to help their people in Haiti. The basic cost of schooling for a student ranges from:

  • $150.00 to $2000.00 CAD per year.

Healthcare

Since 2004 we have been assisting in many ways at Hopital Bon Samaritain (HBS):

  • Working in the pharmacy and Kai Mira orphanage.

  • Kai Mira has mainly children with special needs.

  • Bringing in wheelchairs and strollers to enhance mobility for the orphans.

  • Improving the water lines in the hospital compound and the town.

  • Renovating many areas of the hospital and buildings in the compound.

  • Bringing in many building and medical supplies for HBS and other clinics.

  • Instrumental in helping to open up Hodges House Foster Home.

Religion

We enhance religion by:

  • Bringing in wonderfully illustrated Creole Bible story books from a U.S. distributor.

  • These books are greatly appreciated by Haitians of all ages.

  • We want to keep this faith filled project going, as it was first introduced by Joanna Hodges many years ago.

  • We bring in many religious articles to assist with the Mass celebrations, as well as with people’s personal faith growth.

  • We pray with people to help them in their faith to better deal with their journey through life.
